Under the Quality Assurance Framework of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, Barrett Hodgson University established the Quality Enhancement Cell in March 2019 with the aim of maintaining and enhancing the quality of teaching, learning, and research at the university. This can realistically be achieved through the effective implementation of IQA (Internal Quality Assessment) and EQA (External Quality Assessment) measures, and the department has taken a number of steps to this end. Initiatives such as faculty and student surveys, nomination of Assessment Teams for SAR evaluations, as well as facilitating the departments in the effective development of SARs, have been undertaken to fulfill the IQA criteria successfully.

The Quality Enhancement Cell has also acquired memberships of INQAAHE (International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education), APQN (Asia Pacific Quality Network), PNQAHE (Pakistan Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education), and is in the process of acquiring other memberships of International quality assurance networks as well. We believe an affiliation with these bodies will serve to strengthen our benchmarking practices and positively enhance our knowledge base of international best practices relative to quality assurance. Furthermore, we have also acquired Program Accreditations from the PEC (Pakistan Engineering Council), PCP (Pharmacy Council of Pakistan), with an interim visit by NCEAC (National Computing Education Accreditation Council) in the pipeline. These efforts highlight the strong emphasis on EQA (External Quality Assurance) by the University and QEC. Furthermore, we aim to guide and facilitate students using the following tools:

  • Capacity building sessions
  • Compliance with HEC and other local and international accreditation bodies
  • Feedback forms
  • Faculty and course evaluations
  • Plagiarism checks
  • Faculty course files
  • Academic audits

It is our endeavor to work constructively with the faculty and management of the university to initiate programs for bringing about a change in and develop it into one that has its basis on knowledge creation, and lays the urgency and importance for the implementation and monitoring of all quality standards on HEIs
